About the event

Heritage Chilliwack is pleased to welcome back author and engaging storyteller Brian Antonson. Brian spent much of his career in radio and broadcast education, including 25 years leading the training of future broadcasters at BCIT.

This time, Brian will take us aboard Whistle Posts West: Railway Tales from British Columbia, Alberta and Yukon, co-authored with Mary Trainer and Rick Antonson. Drawing upon 150 years of railway history, the book brings together stories of ingenuity and adventure, humour and heartbreak, train robberies, memorable locomotives, daring routes, disasters and close calls.

Whether trains recall a family connection, a memorable journey or simply the distant sound of a whistle, this Heritage Chat promises a fascinating look at the railways that helped shape Western Canada—and why their stories continue to capture our imaginations.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.
