About the event

Join us for our February Heritage Chat featuring former CBC Radio host and author Mark Forsythe. Best known as the long-time voice of BC Almanac, Mark will reflect on what he’s learned from decades of exploring B.C. history—on the ground, in the archives, and in conversation with listeners. He’ll share memorable stories of people and places, talk about why local history still matters in a fast-changing province, share news of the Langley Heritage Society, which recently completed a barn restoration project at Old Yale Park in Murrayville, and consider how community groups like Heritage Chilliwack help keep those stories alive.

Whether you remember tuning in to BC Almanac or are simply curious about the wider context around Chilliwack’s own past, this will be an engaging evening of anecdotes, insight, and Q&A. Come ready with your questions—and maybe a favourite local story of your own—to add to the conversation.
